eBay taking friendlier stance on links policies!

7-11-2008 Great news from the "crank out a new policy every few days" department at eBay!

On this eBay page: http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/changes.html

Toward the bottom they've just TODAY posted a friendly announcement that opens back up so many of the closed doors they've just shut.

Look for the paragraph that reads:

"We will not enforce the links policy in July as we originally announced on May 19, 2008. We will introduce a revised policy by mid-August, 2008 that will allow links to your ProStore and to non-transactional sites from your About Me page. To give sellers time to adjust, enforcement of the policy will begin four weeks after the revised policy is introduced.""non-transactional sites"...hmmmm...that sounds like a free newsletter opt-in box qualifies to me!! Great news for everyone that uses eBay to generate leads.

This updates previous stricter positions that they said were coming.

Wow - maybe they listened as we tried to kick some sense into their heads at eBay Live 2008!

===========================
7/31/2008 update: Here's the latest. Ignore everything eBay has said since May about links policies. We are back to the original somewhat confusing but far less restrictive policy that we all used to love so much!
